TERESA'S CITY
Anyone visiting Teresópolis for the first time has no idea that the city is much more than one of the most visited tourist attractions in the Mountainous Region of the State of Rio de Janeiro, a true corner that mixes history, beauty and modernity in every corner.
When the imperial family arrived in Brazil (in 1808), Teresópolis was just an area of abandoned land. Ten years later, the English pioneer George March saw the potential of the place and acquired the land of Fazenda do Paquequer, completely transforming the region. During and after the first English occupation, the city became one of the most visited places, including by the imperial family. It is no coincidence that the name of the city is a tribute to the Empress Teresa Cristina.
Two things, however, remain the same since the imperial family fell in love with the city: the extremely pleasant climate and the exuberance of nature, blessed by the famous “Finger of God”. And if all that wasn't enough, Terê still offers its residents and visitors the tranquility of a small town, one of the best cuisines in the state, several attractions, and the friendly hospitality of people in love with the eternal "city of Teresa".

Teresópolis is located in the Serrana Region of the State of Rio de Janeiro, at the top of the famous Serra dos Órgãos, 75km from the capital, in the center of the state.
Pioneer as a summer destination in Brazil, Terê only officially entered the Brazilian tourist circuit when it hosted the 1st National Film Festival, in the 60s. city is in the top 5 of hotel occupancy in the State of Rio de Janeiro in the last year.
For adventurers, the main attraction is the Serra dos Órgãos National Park, home to the famous Finger of God. It also has the Teresópolis Mountains Municipal Natural Park and the Três Picos State Park. Fans of forest walks can enjoy the famous Petrópolis/Teresópolis crossing, which is 30 km long, takes three days and passes through beautiful waterfalls and natural pools. It is also considered the most beautiful crossing in Brazil.

THE LARGEST AGRICULTURAL PRODUCER IN THE STATE, WITHOUT GIVING UP ON PROTECTING THE ENVIRONMENT
Did you know that Teresópolis is the largest agricultural producer in the State of Rio de Janeiro? There are around 183,000 tons of annual production in an area of 6,641.17 hectares, which earned the city the title of State Capital of Family Agriculture. Revenue from Agricultural Production is the highest in the State, moving around R$ 250 million/year.
In addition to hops, the purity of the water is fundamental in the manufacture of beer and has made Terê the birthplace of two of the largest breweries in the country, with a growing craft production, which generates more than a thousand direct jobs. Thanks to the quality of the water and the fact that it is the National Capital of Hops, Teresópolis has a great economic and tourist potential in Teresópolis, which has also been strengthened through the incentive to Micro Breweries.
